Make Space is for everyone—but especially for Black women, femmes, and non-binary creatives who want to reconnect with their inner maker. Whether you're a seasoned artist or just curious about trying something new, you belong here.
Absolutely not. There’s no right way to make. Come as you are, make what you feel. This is about exploration, not perfection.
Each event typically has a sliding scale or suggested donation. But we firmly believe that creativity should be accessible—no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Just pull up.
We’ve tried it all—from knitting and crochet to rug tufting, leather crafts, watercolor painting, and more. Each event includes space for a featured craft, but the heart of Make Space is about people bringing what they’re already working on, sharing ideas, and making side by side. You can come to collaborate, parallel play, or just try something completely new. Whether you're deep into a project or just want to play, there’s space for you here.
